Therefore if you are using the Milk Expresso , all you have to do is to check the Powder Grouping list (on the home page of our website www.babywell.com) and find out which grouping to set for the formula you intend to use. Then set it in the machine.

What is Enterobacter Sakazakii Bacterial? How can the milk Expresso assist in minimizing it?

According to the FDA USA and the Ministry of Health of NZ, Enterobacter Sakazakii bacterial  is found in the environment and can sometimes contaminate food, particularly powdered infant formula. The bacteria may be present in the powder when it is bought or it can be introduced when the formula is being prepared inhygienically. It was first associated with the deaths of premature babies in 1958. Over the last 40 years infections linked to this organism have been reported in neonatal units worldwide. The bacteria can lead to meningitis, sepsis or necrotizing enterocolitis.

The task of preparing infant formula for thousands of times is itself a demanding one. One slip of carelessness may cause the powder, the prepared formula or the utensils used to become contaminated. The result may become fatal for your baby.

The Milk Expresso can help prevent(or minimize) the formation of such bacteria by assisting the new parents to prepare their formula hygienically and consistently. Specifically, the Milk Expresso will a) Minimizing hand contact with the powder and the powder scoop during preparation, b) Minimizing the exposure of the milk powder to the environment, c) Providing clean boiled water daily at suitable feeding temperature, d) Ability to dispense various quantity easily thus avoiding prepared formula being put too long before feeding, e) Sterilizing the utensils before use. Please see the full report here.
